Project

University of Southern Mississippi Fairchild Fieldhouse

This 60,000 ft2 facility is set in the north endzone of the M.M. Roberts Stadium and is the new home of the Golden Eagles Athletics. Decorated in black and gold Southern Miss. fashion, a cast iron Golden Eagle statue is situated in the Circle of Champions area between the stadium and the athletic center. An identical statue presides over the front entrance extending a welcome to people entering the building. The lower level contains a sports medicine lab, athletic training facility, weight room, equipment room, and the home and visiting football locker rooms. The upper level of the Athletic Center houses the administrative offices of the athletic department including coaches’ offices for various sports. The athletic center provides student-athletes, athletic staff, administration and the Golden Eagle fans a centerpiece in which they can take pride in and reflect on Southern Miss accomplishments.
